Would highly recommend, Simon has been wonderful with our son and getting him happy and confident in the water. He gets the most out of him and I have nothing but praise for his approach. Really worth the investment. Thank you. AC
Simon is truly the swim smith, sensational! We have a group session to include our two children; one being quite severely autistic and the other totally neurotypical. Simon tailors his teaching to relax them both whilst also encouraging each to keep improving their swimming abilities. This is no small feat since one is completely non verbal and doesn’t always understand. To be able to teach both in the small pool at the same time is just simply wonderful and a huge relief for us as parents since it’s been such a challenge to find anyone to help accommodate our autistic sons needs without the determent of the neurotypical sibling. There’s never any judgement if one our kids are having an off day (or perhaps a freak out/meltdown) Simon and Jo completely get it and because of this both Simon and Jo give off such a peaceful and nurturing energy that we just couldn’t be without them now. They have taught both children to trust themselves in the water, lose that fear and even starting to swim without their swimming vests! We are so happy with our children’s progress and so grateful to have the lessons with Simon, he truly has made a huge difference and look forward to future lessons with him! AC
Simon is an excellent swimming instructor. He explains everything fully and then demonstrates before you do it. He has a calming influence and helps you believe in yourself and overcome your fears. lf l don't swim it will be my fault not Simons .His wife Jo must also take some credit as she encourages you as well. Thank you both for all your support it helps so much . JL

I would highly recommend swimming lessons with The SwimSmith. My son learnt so much in his first session. Simon and his wife are very friendly and understands all my sons needs. We look forward to the next Session! SK

Simon was very welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly.
The pool was lovely, clean, warm and had an amazing jet.
Both my boys didn't want to get out of the water they found the lesson so much fun and really enjoyed themselves. The small class size meant they both had great instruction from Simon who was in the water guideing and reassuring them. We hope to go back very soon.

Absolutely fantastic!! I have been searching for a while for someone who would be willing to help my autistic son learn to be safe in the water. Simon didn’t hesitate at all when I explained our challenges, which put me at ease straight away. We are only on our third session and I am already seeing so much progress. Simon is patient and understanding, which is just what we need. So happy I found these guys; I would recommend to everyone! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. LS
I had my first swimming lesson with Simon at the age of 58
When I initially got into the pool, I was absolutely terrified and didn't want to leave the edge.
Simon is so patient and encouraging
I told him I didn't believe I could float. He gently advised me how to breath and relax and helped me float using 2 noodles. When I felt comfortable doing this, I did it using 1 noodle and then completely unaided. I floated both on my back and my front.
Simon kept checking I was comfortable with what I was doing. Although encouraging, Simon never pushed me into progressing more quickly than I felt happy with.
Then Simon asked if I felt comfortable trying to swim with the aid of noodles and floats. Again he was so encouraging
To cut a long story short, in my first 30 minute swimming lesson with Simon, I went from bring absolutely terrified of water to actually swimming unaided.
His wife Jo was present during the lesson and also expressed words of encouragement and praise.
When my husband picked me up, he said I had the biggest smile on my face.
I would thoroughly recommend SwimSmith to anyone who wants to learn to swim or just feel more comfortable in the water.
I am 74 years of age and indulging in an exercise regime in the hope of ‘stopping the rot’ of ageing. (cardio/weight training etc.) As part of this regime I thought it might be beneficial to learn to swim properly, instead of ‘floundering about’ in the shallow end!
Suffice it to say, when I first took lessons with Simon I couldn’t swim a width of our local swimming pool! However some lessons later I can now swim lengths, and we are now ‘tweaking’ my technique. Spectacular really, since I am ‘no athlete’ and I had zero confidence in the water. With Simon’s patience and tuition things have become immeasurably better!
That being said what is most noticeable is Simon’s attention to the welfare of his pupils. I am facing some serious health issues and had to take ‘time out’ from the pool. He was most accommodating and showed great kindness to my present difficulties, even going so far to keep up contact during my ‘temporary absence’. I am not surprised to find that he is ‘giving of his time’ to help others.
Simon uses his time and skills for the benefit of those in need of his help. His attitude is to be commended! TLC
